Innovative solutions for the housing crisis

Mais Ajuda

The briefing

The challenge set by Lidl was to revamp the Mais Ajuda programme, part of its social responsibility strategy since 2019 . The goal was to increase the impact on the supported organisations, strengthen community involvement, and maximise the results for the selected entities.

The strategy

We reshaped the programme’s strategy for 2024, giving Lidl employees the decision-making power over the theme: dignified housing became the focus. The strategy also involved Lidl customers, who contributed through a round-up campaign during Christmas purchases, adding value to the amount donated by Lidl.

Support was concentrated on fewer organisations but in a more robust manner. In addition to substantial funding of 100.000€ per solution, we offered organisational transformation, including individual diagnostics, an intensive bootcamp, and ongoing mentoring. This approach ensured that the beneficiary organisations were well-prepared for sustainable growth and a broader impact.

The outcomes

  • Over 114 organisations mapped during the scouting process and 24 sucessful applicants
  • €400.000 allocated to four organisations
  • 148 hours of training, capacity building and individual mentorship throughout 2024
